The seminarís English and Welsh equivalent has been praised by the hundreds of building control officers who have taken part in it since its launch in 2014. The 2017 edition has just had its CPD certification renewed, and is sought after by local authorities and construction professionals countrywide.
Since adding LABSS registered details to the list of achievements attained by its Hybrid range, which also include LABC registered details and NHBC approval, Actis technical director Thomas Wiedmer has revised the course to suit the more stringent Scottish building regulations.
The one hour Construction CPD Certification Service certified seminar ĎAddressing the performance gap using reflective insulationí focuses on how to address thermal bridging, why the performance gap exists, the effects of external factors on the fabric efficiency of a building, air tightness and thermal bridging and how reflective insulation can address these issues.
The format involves a 40 minute presentation followed by a 20 minute Q and A, a chance to inspect insulation materials at first hand and talk to the ACTIS experts about thermal bridging issues.
The free events, suitable for building control officers, architects, specifiers, SAP assessors, site managers and operatives, are organised at venues and times to suit the audience and can include buffet, snacks or breakfast.
